Connectivity Planning Update

The Capital Regional District has contracted TANEx Engineering to create a Broadband Strategy for the Southern Gulf Islands. The Broadband Strategy project builds on work done by the CRD in early 2020 to document community perceptions and experiences with internet connectivity in the Electoral Area of the Southern Gulf Islands (“Phase 1”). TANEx will leverage the information obtained by the CRD in Phase 1 to create a strategy to improve connectivity for Mayne, Pender, Galiano and Saturna Islands.

The project is expected to take 4-6 months to complete and will result in a written strategy report that provides next steps and recommendations for improved connectivity.
